PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The objectives of the overall project are 1) to define the reservoir size of new dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in the deep ocean and understand its composition, 2) to model the carbon flux needed to support the reservoir assuming steady state conditions, and 3) to investigate the likely mechanisms of DOC transport out of the euphotic zone.
